About Copa Argentina
The Copa Argentina is an annual football cup competition organized by the Argentine Football Association. Its origins date back to 1969, but due to interruptions, only two editions (1969 and 1970) were completed. The tournament was officially revived in the 2011-2012 season, adopting a single-elimination format. Qualified teams include those from the Argentine Primera División and teams advancing through qualifying rounds. The champion of the tournament earns a spot in the Copa Libertadores. As of the 2025 season, the total market value of participating teams stands at 1.02725 billion euros.

Cup History
The Copa Argentina was founded by the Argentine Football Association in 1969, becoming Argentina’s first nationwide cup competition system. After the completion of the inaugural 1969 edition, the second edition in 1970 failed to finish all matches due to unforeseen circumstances. The tournament was then suspended for a long period until its official revival in the 2011-2012 season, establishing a continuously held annual competition system. In the 2020-2021 season, the scale of participation expanded to 77 teams, including all clubs from the Argentine Primera División and some teams from the Argentine Primera B Nacional that qualified directly for the main draw.
