Liverpool are set to submit a bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, and if the deal goes through, it could trigger a chain reaction—PSG plan to sign Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as a replacement, making this a potential three-way win.
Barcola, who cemented his starting spot at PSG last season, impressed with 21 goals and 19 assists in 58 games across competitions, establishing himself as a rising forward. Liverpool are determined to strengthen their flank and ready to offer over €70 million. If successful, the Reds’ total summer spending will exceed €400 million, highlighting their ambition.
While PSG would pocket a hefty fee, they need to fill the void up front—and have their sights on Rodrygo. The two young stars share similarities: both rose to prominence early, proved themselves in big Champions League games, and offer immediate impact. Rodrygo, who sacrificed game time last season to make way for Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, still managed 14 goals and 10 assists in 51 matches, with a €90 million valuation.
Real Madrid, however, have struggled to offload Rodrygo for nearly a month, with no takers. Premier League side Tottenham briefly explored a move but backed out due to the high price. PSG’s interest now comes as a relief. Crucially, PSG and Real have been in frequent contact this summer, aiming to mend ties strained by the Mbappé saga—and this deal could be the icebreaker. Sources say PSG are willing to pay around €80 million for Rodrygo, a figure likely to satisfy Real.
