With Son Heung-min having informed Tottenham Hotspur of his desire to leave, LAFC is currently engaged in in-depth negotiations with Tottenham. Son is expected to depart after Tottenham’s friendly match against Newcastle United, and LAFC has already sent negotiators to South Korea (Tottenham’s friendly with Newcastle is taking place in Seoul).
Regarding his decision to leave, Son Heung-min stated: “I just want to let everyone know that I have decided to leave the club this summer. To be honest, the club is helping me make this decision. This is the hardest decision of my career. The main reason is that I have achieved everything I could at Tottenham Hotspur. I need a new environment to take on new challenges.”

The 33-year-old Son Heung-min’s current contract with Tottenham expires in June next year, and his current market value on Transfermarkt stands at €20 million.
