On June 19th 2004, in one of the most electrifying encounters at UEFA Euro 2004, the Czech Republic staged a 3-2 comeback victory against the Netherlands at the Estádio Municipal de Aveiro. In a pulsating encounter, the Netherlands raced to a 2-0 lead within 20 minutes through Wilfred Bouma’s header (3’) and Ruud van Nistelrooy’s tap-in (19’), only to be stunned by the Czech Republic’s three unanswered goals in a sensational 3-2 comeback .

Led by Pavel Nedvěd’s midfield orchestration and Milan Baroš’s two goals, the Czechs ignited their fightback with Jan Koller’s finish (23’), equalized through Baroš’s volley (70’), and sealed victory via Vladimír Šmicer’s 88th-minute rebound.
