Tottenham Hotspur intends to increase the weekly wage of defender Micky van de Ven by more than double. Currently, Van de Ven’s weekly wage stands at approximately £50,000, and the new contract is expected to raise it to over £100,000, which aims to reflect his value and importance to the team.
Previously, after Son Heung-min’s departure, Tottenham elevated Cristian Romero to the position of the club’s highest-paid player. At present, several of Tottenham’s high-earning players are as follows: Cristian Romero and Simons on £195,000 per week, James Maddison on £170,000 per week, Rodrigo Bentancur on £135,000 per week, and Dejan Kulusevski on £110,000 per week.
As Van de Ven has attracted interest from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea, Tottenham hopes to retain him by offering a wage increase.
