Owen: Kane’s Move to Bayern Was Crazy – It’s as Boring as Winning Titles Every Year at Celtic

BayernSturm

English football legend Michael Owen still feels strongly about England captain Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich, believing Kane should have stayed in the Premier League.

Owen said: “Harry Kane is absolutely lethal; he’s a talented finisher. I didn’t agree with his move to Germany, and I spoke my mind at the time. I still think he was crazy now – you were so close to becoming the all-time leading scorer in Premier League history, and your kids go to school here. I mean, I just can’t wrap my head around it, I really can’t.”

Owen continued: “If you were that desperate to win something, you could have stayed at Tottenham Hotspur for one more year and then left. It’s like moving to Celtic and winning the league title – you win every year, but that’s not a great achievement. Becoming the all-time top scorer in the Premier League is a true great achievement; that would have been incredible, and he could have gone on to claim that honor. Alright, we’re getting off track here. Harry Kane, I love him, I think he’s lethal, and he maintains a steely mentality under pressure. He’s a great penalty taker, he’s absolutely incredible, he has great presence, I really like him, and I think he’s been fantastic all these years.”
