English forward Mason Greenwood is a target for Saudi giant Al Nassr, and Manchester United would stand to benefit significantly if he completes a transfer.

Al Nassr has recently made inquiries about Marseille forward Greenwood. However, Marseille has made it clear that they have no intention of selling the former Manchester United striker, even after signing free-agent Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Nonetheless, growing speculation has linked Greenwood to a move to Saudi Arabia, with rumors suggesting Al Nassr could look to sign him to bolster their attacking options.

Al Nassr would need to offer a transfer fee in excess of £85 million to make Marseille even consider selling the English forward this summer, and even then, Marseille may still adhere to their stance that he is not for sale. It is understood that Marseille’s valuation is largely due to Manchester United retaining a 50% sell-on clause for Greenwood.

Greenwood joined Marseille for a £26.5 million transfer fee last summer. In 36 appearances, he scored 22 goals and provided 6 assists, helping the team secure the league runners-up spot. Thanks to his impressive performances in his debut Ligue 1 season, Greenwood has attracted interest from several clubs, with a Saudi Pro League side keen to acquire the English forward.

Any profit from Marseille's sale of Greenwood would benefit Manchester United, as the deal from a year ago included a clause entitling them to a 50% share of secondary transfer profits.
