The United Arab Emirates national football team is the sports team representing the UAE in international football competitions.
Team History
It was founded on November 30, 1970, in the United Arab Emirates. [19] In 1990, during the first phase of the Asian Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup, the UAE was grouped with Kuwait, Pakistan, and Yemen. Yemen withdrew before the tournament, leaving only three teams in the group. In the first match, the UAE faced Kuwait away. After leading 2-1, the UAE was eventually reversed by Kuwait with a 3-2 scoreline. In 2011, the UAE team participated in the 2011 Qatar Asian Cup. In June 2022, all 24 participating teams for the 2023 Asian Cup were confirmed, and the United Arab Emirates national men's football team was among them. On January 28, 2023, the host country of the 2023 West Asian Football Federation Championship, the UAE, officially announced the participating countries for the tournament, with the UAE team included.

On January 14, 2024, in the Asian Cup group stage, the UAE team defeated Hong Kong, China 3-1; on January 23, in the 3rd round of the Asian Cup group stage, the UAE team lost 1-2 to Iran; in June, in the 6th round of the second phase of the Asian Qualifiers for the World Cup, the UAE team drew 1-1 with Bahrain; in September, in the first round of the third phase of the World Cup qualifiers, the UAE defeated Qatar 3-1; on September 19, FIFA released the latest FIFA national team rankings, with the United Arab Emirates national men's football team ranked 10th in Asia (69th in the world); on October 11, in the 3rd round of the World Cup 18-team qualifiers, the UAE drew 1-1 with North Korea at home; on October 15, in the 4th round of the World Cup 18-team qualifiers, the UAE lost 0-1 to Uzbekistan; on November 15, in the 5th round of the third phase of the Asian World Cup qualifiers, the UAE defeated Kyrgyzstan 3-0; on November 20, in the 6th round of the third phase of the Asian World Cup qualifiers, the UAE won a 5-0 victory over Qatar.
