The Finland men's national football team is the official football team of Finland, managed by the Football Association of Finland. According to FIFA's 2006 rankings, Finland was ranked only 61st in the world. This level is far from comparable to other Nordic countries such as Denmark, Sweden, and Norway: Denmark and Norway have both reached the second round of the World Cup, while Sweden has even won the World Cup runner-up (1958) and third place (1950, 1994). The kit sponsor of the Finland men's national football team is Adidas.

Famous Players

Jari Litmanen
Litmanen is the most outstanding footballer in Finnish history, as Finland had long lacked any renowned football stars. In 2003, he was named Finland's best footballer of the past 50 years by the Football Association of Finland. In 2004, in the ""100 Greatest Finns of All Time"" poll held by the Finnish Broadcasting Company, he ranked 42nd and was the only footballer on the list, underscoring his exceptional status. To date, he has earned over 100 caps for the Finnish national team, but due to the team's lack of talent and strength, Finland has never qualified for any major international tournaments, including the World Cup and the European Championship.

The player began his career at a small domestic club in Finland before moving to other European leagues, spending most of his time with Dutch giants Ajax. He played for Ajax from 1992 to 1999, during which he won a UEFA Champions League title in 1995, after which he gained widespread recognition. He later moved between several clubs, eventually returning to Ajax in 2002. In 2004, he returned to Finland to join small club Lahti; after one season, he moved to German club Hansa Rostock, and in 2005, he transferred to Swedish club Malmö FF.
