According to media reports, Shakira recently gave an interview on a show where she talked about Gerard Piqué’s influence on their two children, Milan and Sasha.
Shakira: “Milan and Sasha always come first. Piqué and I are on the same page about this, and that’s what keeps us connected, even though our lives have taken different paths.”
“Milan plays the piano, drums, guitar, and is now learning the bass – he’s very talented! Sasha has an incredibly beautiful voice.”
“Both of them are extremely disciplined, which is something I’ve taught them since they were little. I have to say, this also goes to Piqué – he’s very disciplined, because you can’t succeed in any industry without it. I think discipline is the foundation. They know there’s no other way; this is non-negotiable.”
“My children are the reason I exist. They are my two stars, my sun, the purpose of my life, my inspiration, my strength. I think about them every moment – they are my whole world.”
On breaking up with Piqué
“I channeled all that frustration, anger, pain, and sadness into art, creativity, and inspiration. It helped me heal, and I believe many people healed with me too.”
Shakira, 48, is best known for singing the 2010 South Africa World Cup theme song "Waka Waka". She also performed the theme song "Zoo" for the recently released Disney animated film "Zootopia 2".
Shakira and Piqué met during the 2010 World Cup and officially confirmed their relationship in March 2011. In June 2022, the two announced their breakup, ending their 11-year relationship. Shortly after, Piqué was exposed for having cheated multiple times previously.
