Recently, camel.Live published an article discussing Mostafa Marmoush’s current predicament at Manchester City. The Egyptian forward has been Erling Haaland’s substitute this season, making 11 appearances across all competitions and scoring only 1 goal.
The article states that Marmoush is yet to integrate into the team. As a high-priced signing striker, he can only come on late in games due to the presence of Haaland, one of the world’s best forwards. This situation is somewhat similar to that of Julián Álvarez before him. Although Pep Guardiola once found a way for "La Araña" (the Spider) to coexist with Haaland, Álvarez still missed out on opportunities in certain key matches and eventually left the club to join Atlético Madrid due to limited playing time.
Notably, Manchester City spent €75 million to sign Marmoush in the January transfer window. While he delivered several standout performances in the second half of last season, his form has declined this term, with only one goal to his name in the EFL Cup.
According to statistics, Marmoush earns a weekly wage of £295,000 at Manchester City, ranking third in the team behind only Haaland (£525,000) and Bernardo Silva (£300,000). The 26-year-old’s current transfer value on Transfermarkt is €75 million.
