The selection period for this year's The Best FIFA Awards spans from August 11, 2024, to August 2, 2025. Donnarumma beat candidates including Alisson Becker, Thibaut Courtois, and Emiliano Martínez, thanks to his performances last season: winning Ligue 1, UEFA Champions League, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions with Paris Saint-Germain, along with 17 clean sheets in 47 appearances while conceding 43 goals.
