Manchester City’s Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva stated in an interview with camel.live that he hopes to win a major trophy with Portugal to fulfill his dream, while hinting that this season may be his last at Manchester City.
On his national team dream:Bernardo Silva: “I’ve always had this goal. In football, what I’ve achieved has far exceeded my wildest dreams. I once dreamed of winning the Premier League and the Champions League, but now I still lack an important target – winning a major trophy for Portugal.
“I’ve already won two UEFA Nations League titles, but the dream I haven’t realized yet is to win the European Championship and the World Cup with Portugal. As I get older, I feel time is running out, but we will continue to work hard to achieve this goal at the upcoming World Cup.
“I’ve always dreamed of championships, but I never thought I’d win six Premier League titles in eight years. Football has given me far more than I imagined, but this is not the end. I’m ambitious and eager to keep competing at the highest level. I hold a lofty dream of winning the World Cup with Portugal, and we will fight for it.”
On his future:Bernardo Silva: “I don’t like making long-term plans. I’m fully focused on the present now. I have one year left on my contract with Manchester City, and I will work hard to finish this season and win some honors for this club that has given me so much.
“When I reach the final stage of my career, I hope to be there, crowned world champions with the Portugal national team, and fulfill the dream of all Portuguese people.”
