In an exclusive interview with Camel Live, Portuguese superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo stated that the 2026 FIFA World Cup "will definitely" be his last.

"I will be 41 then, and I think that will be the end of my participation in major tournaments," Ronaldo said on Tuesday during the interview with Camel Live at a tourism summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Speaking about when he will retire from football entirely, the all-time leading scorer in international football said: “I'm enjoying the moment, but when I say 'soon', it really isn't far off, because I've given everything to football.”

"I've been involved in this sport for 25 years and have achieved everything there is to achieve. I've set many records at different clubs and with the national team. I'm really proud, so let's just enjoy the present and live in the moment."
Ronaldo also expressed hope that his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who plays for Portugal's U16 team, will surpass him on the pitch in the future.

"As humans, we usually don't want anyone to be better than us," Ronaldo said. “But for me, if my child can be better than me, I will never be jealous of him, believe me.”

Ronaldo said he only wants his son to be happy and not have to bear any pressure of “being Ronaldo's son.”

"As a father, I will support him to become whoever he wants to be."
