The legal battle between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) continues. On December 9, a Paris court handed down a preliminary ruling, which was made public today.

This marks a small victory for PSG in its judicial dispute with Kylian Mbappé. The Paris Court of Appeal dismissed Mbappé's appeal against the "lifting of the attachment order on PSG's funds" on December 9.

In May this year, PSG successfully lifted the €55 million attachment order that Mbappé had requested on the club's accounts. A judge enforcing the ruling at the Paris Judicial Court had ordered "the lifting of the attachment on three PSG accounts." The decision came weeks after the club's accounts were seized. The player appealed against this ruling.

On December 9, the Paris Court of Appeal ruled to dismiss Mbappé's request to suspend the earlier judgment—which had ordered the lifting of the attachment on the club's accounts in April this year.

According to RMC, citing sources close to the case, the court also ordered Mbappé to bear the legal costs and pay €3,000 to PSG as a penalty for abuse of legal proceedings.

PSG argued that Mbappé should pay a maximum fine of €10,000 for initiating an “abusive and delaying lawsuit.”

Renault Semerjian, PSG's lawyer in the case, said: “For the second time, the judicial authorities have confirmed that Mr. Mbappé's request for the attachment of the club's accounts in April this year has no legal basis. Essentially, this entire dispute is solely about integrity, the defense of values, and respect for established commitments. PSG will continue to vigorously defend its rights.”

As of Friday, Mbappé's camp had not responded to media requests for comment.

On Tuesday, December 16, the two parties will appear again before the Labour Arbitration Court, which will issue another ruling following the previous hearing in November.
