Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr are considering a €85 million bid to sign Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli this summer.
The Saudi Pro League side are preparing a major transfer push to chase their first league title since 2019. The Saudi transfer window opened on Thursday, 17 days earlier than usual, meaning Premier League clubs could face early approaches for their stars.
Martinelli is a player of interest for Al-Nassr, who have turned to alternative targets after an unsuccessful pursuit of top target Luis Díaz. Hoping to conclude transfer business swiftly, Al-Nassr may now target Martinelli to test Arsenal's resolve over the Brazilian.
Arsenal have not yet been approached by Al-Nassr and are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old. However, if the Gunners receive an offer they cannot refuse, the funds recouped could help them sign Newcastle's Anthony Gordon or Real Madrid star Rodrygo, who is eager to leave. As such, Arsenal would reportedly accept Al-Nassr's bid.
A deal worth around €85 million would immediately break Arsenal's transfer sale record, currently held by the £35 million Liverpool paid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2017.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eager to strengthen his attacking options this summer, having been forced to field a patchwork front three for much of last season due to injuries.
The Gunners have long been linked with Gordon, who has also attracted interest from Liverpool. Meanwhile, Arsenal have grown interested in Rodrygo in recent months as the Brazilian's role at Real Madrid has declined since Kylian Mbappé's arrival, leaving him dissatisfied with his status at the club.
