Real Madrid's official TV channel announced that the club is preparing to formally complain to FIFA about Spanish referees.
According to Real Madrid TV: “The club is preparing a report that contains an account of the performance of Spanish referees when officiating Real Madrid matches last season and this season. This report will be sent to FIFA to allow FIFA to understand the refereeing situation in Spanish football, as everything happening now is absolutely disgraceful.”
“We are talking about a team that boasts Kylian Mbappé, Arda Güler, Aurélien Tchouameni, and Thibaut Courtois – a team on a four-match winning streak and in excellent form. Matters related to football itself can be discussed at length, but we still have to sit in the show late at night to review the referees' disgraceful officiating standards.”
In this round of La Liga against Real Sociedad, Real Madrid center-back Éder Militão was sent off with a red card in the first half for pulling an opponent as the last defending player.
