According to the written application submitted to the court, Real Madrid requests permission to review all audit, due diligence, forensic and legal investigation reports completed by external institutions on the above-mentioned matters between 2010 and 2021, involving institutions including KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and Kroll.

In addition, Real Madrid also requests to review more than 600 documents submitted by Barcelona to the court in July 2023, and to learn details of the internal investigations conducted by the club, including phased and final reports, interview records and verification results. At the same time, journalists have continued to disclose details of the case’s progress in reports.

Journalists said: “From these materials, Real Madrid hopes to extract multiple key clues.”

The application also includes: obtaining budgets, internal audits, annual financial reports, external audit reports and minutes of meetings of Barcelona’s Tax Governance Committee between 2010 and 2018, focusing on payments made to companies associated with Negreira.

Summarizing on behalf of Estrada-Fernández, the core purpose of this move is: “Disclose all documents, clarify who the money was paid to and why, and verify the reasonableness of these huge sums in economic, tax and contractual terms.”

Currently, the case proceedings are still advancing. Real Madrid’s application also requests to summon Carlos Naval (Barcelona first-team director) to testify, and order relevant law firms and institutions to submit communications, complaints and supplementary materials related to the case.

Next, the judge will decide whether to approve these investigation requests submitted by Real Madrid. The scope and depth of the investigation into this case involving Barcelona’s long-term payment behavior continue to expand.
