This loss has almost completely knocked the Reds out of the title race. At least based on publicly available historical records and data, there has never been a case in the Premier League era where a team with only 18 points after 12 rounds went on to win the championship. If Liverpool wants to rewrite this history, they can only challenge probability and tradition through a crazy comeback in the remaining more than half of the season.
