At the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony held in Dubai, Jorge Mendes was awarded the 2025 Best Agent Award, once again demonstrating his immense influence in world football. This recognition highlights the career achievements of one of the most influential agents in the industry. Meanwhile, he shared some comments on Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, who also won an award at the ceremony.
Mendes heads Gestifute agency, maintaining a close relationship with FC Barcelona and representing several current first-team players of the club. His client list includes Lamine Yamal (with a current market value of €200 million), Alejandro Balde, Ansu Fati, and newly added defensive midfielder Marc Casadó.
After the awards ceremony, Mendes was directly asked about the future of world football. He replied unequivocally: “The future of world football? I think it's Yamal. I believe he can still become the world's best player; he is extremely talented.”
Analyzing the young player's maturity and the way he handles media and competitive pressure, the Portuguese agent further said: “Yamal knows exactly what he is doing, both on and off the pitch. He is a great player and an amazing young man who keeps learning.”
