Roma’s sporting director Tiago Pinto Marsala accepted an interview with camel.live reporters ahead of the team’s match against Lille.
Marsala first said: “The head coach has multiple options for team selection; he will evaluate and decide which players to field based on actual circumstances. Currently, the team is in a period of intensive fixtures, so rotating the squad is clearly a reasonable arrangement.”
Marsala then talked about Paulo Dybala, stating: “He is recovering well at the moment, and we hope he can make the available squad for (the match on) Sunday.”
“In fact, Dybala is not the only player whose contract is about to expire, but contract renewal discussions have not been put on the agenda at this stage. Our current focus is to go all out in handling the upcoming matches; as for contract renewals, we will make plans based on actual situations later.”
When talking about the upcoming match afterward, Marsala said: “Lille is a strong team that has been at the top level of French football for many years and possesses high competitive standards. We must be highly vigilant—this team is very familiar with the rhythm and intensity of such competitions.”
Finally, Marsala commented on the team’s recent performance: "We are satisfied with the team’s current development momentum, and we also know well that the team’s growth and accumulation require time. Roma’s iconic defensive stability from last season is still our advantage today; in addition, we also hope to further improve the efficiency of the offensive end to make the team’s performance more balanced."
"What is certain is that the return of Dybala and Leon Bailey from injuries will provide the head coach with more tactical options."
