Chelsea and Manchester United have inquired about the situation of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. However, a transfer is not expected to be concluded in the short term, as currently only these two English elite clubs have shown signs of interest in him.
Both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Donnarumma's situation, but so far they have only expressed such interest and have not held formal transfer discussions with the player's team. Without a contract and transfer offer that the Italian goalkeeper finds attractive, he is likely to stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
In the past few days, Paris Saint-Germain has announced the signing of Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, but this move did not come as a surprise to the Italian: Donnarumma was informed long ago that the club would sign a new goalkeeper this summer, as Paris Saint-Germain aims to intensify competition in the goalkeeper position. The arrival of this former Lille goalkeeper is the wish of head coach Luis Enrique, who, together with the sports management department, has made him a top priority in the summer transfer market.
Donnarumma's contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs until June 2026, but he has rejected the renewal salary terms proposed by the club. As a result, with no renewal agreement reached, Paris Saint-Germain is attempting to sell Donnarumma this summer, and he could potentially move to the English league.
For Donnarumma himself, he will only agree to leave if he receives an attractive transfer offer. If no such offer materializes, he will see out the final year of his contract. Donnarumma has made it clear that he will not leave to meet the demands of Paris Saint-Germain's management.
