The deal for Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund to join AC Milan on loan has been finalized. Milan will pay an approximate loan fee of £6 million and hold a £40 million buyout option.
Following negotiations over the past few days, Højlund was informed that he would no longer be a starter or a regular player for the team in the new season. He initially had reservations about leaving but eventually accepted that this was the best choice for his career.
The 22-year-old Højlund is a Danish international. Last season, he made 32 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, scoring 4 goals.
