The Portuguese national team officially announced the death of Diogo Jota in a car accident. Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa also mourned the Portuguese star in a social media post.
He wrote: "The news of Jota's passing is unexpected and tragic. I extend my deepest condolences to his family. This is a sad day for football, for Portugal, and for the sporting world."
