Jürgen Klopp, former legendary manager of Liverpool and current Red Bull Global Director, recently spoke out in support of Florian Wirtz – the German midfielder Liverpool signed this summer – in an interview. He not only hailed Wirtz as a "once-in-a-century talent" but also emphasized there’s no need to worry about his adaptation at Liverpool, firmly believing he will replicate his brilliant form from his Bayer Leverkusen days.
When talking about the recent discussions surrounding Wirtz’s performance, Klopp stated bluntly that they were "overblown": "I don’t worry about his ability at all – everyone knows how good he is. Liverpool have just lost three games in a row – it’s unusual not to have a losing streak like this for so long, but ups and downs like this are normal in life, and that’s why people are talking about it. I’ve been through too many similar situations, and I can tell you: all these public discussions are just for attention. It’s okay, everything will turn out fine."
He further stood up for Wirtz: "He’s a once-in-a-century talent, and at some point, he’ll show that in every game again, just like he did at Leverkusen. Liverpool have given him a stable environment, and the club is great at supporting players in moments like this. If anyone is worried about him, take my word for it – there’s no need at all! You can stop worrying."
In addition, Klopp also talked about the German national team’s prospects at next year’s World Cup, expressing full confidence in head coach Julian Nagelsmann and the team: "I trust Nagelsmann 100%, and I don’t need to check in from time to time to say ‘everything will be okay’ – because I know it will be! He’s an outstanding coach, and we have outstanding players. Besides, no team has ever become world champions after sweeping through the qualifiers. Before the 1990 World Cup, Thomas Häßler had to score a very late goal for us to even qualify."
