Brentford Manager: I Watched the Video of Last Season’s 4-3 Win Against Man Utd This Week

Ahead of Brentford’s home Premier League match against Manchester United, manager Keith Andrews gave a pre-match interview.
On facing Manchester United
“They have a group of very talented players, and their style of play is very clear—they know exactly what they’re doing.
They’ve brought in some excellent players, and one of them left here to join them—we know him very well!
If we don’t focus on doing our own things well, they’ll cause us a lot of trouble.
I rewatched the footage of our 4-3 win over Man Utd (in May) this week, as well as some of their other games this season. Because the squad makes a huge difference, especially in the attacking areas.
They signed Mbeumo, Cunha, and Šeško this summer, so we’ve analyzed what changes they might have compared to when we played them at the end of last season. Their system might be the same, but the personnel are different.”
On Mbeumo’s return to Brentford
“I think Mbeumo should get a fantastic reception from the fans. He embodies all the great qualities of this club. He spent six years here—he arrived at 19 barely able to speak English, and over time, with patience and support, he grew into a mature man and player.
Last season was the peak of his six-year journey here, and so many people at the club were part of his development. I know he’s grateful for that, and the fans are too.
However, I don’t want us to give him a ‘friendly’ welcome on the pitch! We’re well aware of his ability, his strengths, and what a good player he is—so we hope we can keep him in check and make it an unhappy afternoon for him.”
