According to camel.live, recently, Ryan Coto has become a star signed player of the Betis Foundation. The six-year-old child is the fifth protagonist of the project launched to raise awareness of childhood diabetes (Type 1 diabetes). Since the age of three, he has been fighting diabetes; although the journey is full of challenges, Ryan has always faced it with strong will and a smile.
Today, accompanied by Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini, Ryan shared a joyful time with the club’s first-team players, and the scene was filled with touch and warmth. As the spokesperson for this season, Ryan not only conveys hope on behalf of Betis but also undertakes the mission of providing support to children struggling with diabetes.
Real Betis Balompié and its Foundation have long been committed to eliminating misunderstandings about diabetes through this project and spreading knowledge about disease prevention and treatment to the public. The core goal of this initiative is to rid society of prejudice against diabetes, encourage children with the disease to face challenges bravely, and give them hope and motivation. Betis hopes every child can understand that diabetes is not an insurmountable obstacle—they can still grow, live their lives, and pursue their dreams.
The Foundation’s activities include not only Ryan participating in hospital visits with Betis players as a spokesperson for childhood diabetes but also regularly sharing stories of other children with diabetes via social media and providing the public with tips for a healthy lifestyle. Every month, the Foundation selects one child with diabetes, using these real-life stories to inspire more families.
At the event on the day, Rafael Goldillo, President of the Betis Foundation, and Daniel Olivencia, Trustee of the Foundation, attended together with Ryan and his mother Jessica Coto— the scene was brimming with emotion and warmth. Ryan received encouragement from the Betis players, who all expressed their willingness to help Ryan realize his dreams. Ryan also revealed that he hopes to use his own efforts to help more children like him overcome the disease and achieve their goals.
Through Ryan’s story, the Betis Foundation aims to arouse public attention to diabetes while bringing confidence and hope to children with diabetes and their families. This activity is not only of great significance to Ryan but also provides a platform for more children with diabetes to feel the care and support of society.
