
Official news: Arsenal have signed Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, and the Swedish forward will wear the No. 14 jersey for the club.
Arsenal's official announcement reads as follows:
We are delighted to announce that Swedish international Viktor Gyökeres has signed a long-term contract with us.
The 27-year-old forward joins from Sporting CP, where he made 102 appearances and scored an incredible 97 goals.
During his two seasons with Sporting CP, Viktor helped the team win consecutive Primeira Liga titles and domestic cup championships in Portugal, while also finishing as the league's top scorer in both seasons. He has also excelled on the international stage, scoring 12 goals in his last 17 appearances for the Swedish national team.
Born in Stockholm, Viktor began his career with Brommapojkarna, coming through the club's youth system. He made 31 appearances at U19 and U21 levels, scoring 32 goals, and made his first-team debut at the age of 17.
In January 2018, the prolific goalscorer joined Brighton, during which time he was loaned out to Swansea, St. Pauli and Coventry City. In 2021, he made a permanent move to Coventry City, helping the side reach the 2023 EFL Championship play-off final.

Viktor will wear the No. 14 jersey and will immediately join the first-team squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.

The transfer is subject to the completion of relevant regulatory processes.
Additionally, according to information officially released by Sporting CP, the transfer fee for Gyökeres' move to Arsenal is a fixed fee of €65.764 million plus €10.256 million in variable bonuses, bringing the total to €76.02 million.
