On Wednesday, high-profile transfer negotiations for Theo Hernández's move to Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal reached a conclusion, with final terms sealed for the French left-back to depart AC Milan after a four-year spell. According to multiple sources close to the deal, the 26-year-old, who has been a defensive mainstay for Milan since 2019, will join Al Hilal for a transfer fee exceeding €30 million. The Saudi club has also agreed to offer him a lucrative after-tax annual salary of over €20 million, marking one of the most significant transfers in Saudi league history.
Hernández is expected to travel to Paris in the coming days for a medical examination before officially signing a contract that will keep him at Al Hilal until at least 2027. As runners-up in the Saudi Pro League last season, Al Hilal aims to strengthen its squad to compete for both domestic dominance and AFC Champions League glory.
A product of Atletico Madrid's academy, Hernández joined Milan from Real Madrid in 2019 and has since emerged as one of European football's most dynamic full-backs. He made 178 appearances for the Rossoneri, contributing 19 goals and 26 assists, and helped the club secure the Serie A title in 2022. His blistering pace, attacking creativity, and defensive solidity made him a fan favorite at San Siro. Milan has now launched a search for a replacement, with reports linking them to Bayer Leverkusen's Alejandro Grimaldo.
The deal remains subject to final approval from both clubs and the completion of standard transfer formalities. Al Hilal is expected to make an official announcement by the end of the week.
